SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd, a foreign direct investment company in Brunei and a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, worked together with Mothercare to give away infant car seats to 13 parents of newborns in a ceremony at the Women and Children Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital yesterday.

Chief Accountant at the SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd Hajah Roslinah binti Salleh spoke about the importance of using infant car seat.

Hajah Roslinah said, “Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, especially for parents to provide safety of infants while travelling in a vehicle.

“Acting as a catalyst for safety for road users in Brunei, the company collaborates with Mothercare and donated 156 clothing chairs since September 2018 to newborns in hospitals across three districts,” she said.

A demonstration on how to install the infant car seats was also held.

Mohammad Shamri bin Alias and wife Norhafilah binti Haji Abdullah, who gave birth to a baby boy on September 25, in an interview, said, “Alhamdulillah, we didn’t expect to receive an infant car seat. It will be useful and important for the safety of our baby while travelling.” Mohammad Shamri also thanked SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd, Mothercare and RIPAS Hospital.
