THE Youth Nationhood Camp received a positive response from youths nationwide with 124 registering for the event, yesterday at the Kampong Sungai Kebun Sports Complex.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the camp began with registration and breakfast prior to a briefing by Hjh Noor Maslina. The participants then joined an ice breaking session followed by lunch and the congregational Zohor prayer.
The afternoon session involved a flag hoisting ceremony, the Maghrib congregational prayer, recitation of 30 juzuks of the Quran and a self therapy activity. The camp, part of the 10th Belia Cinta Tanah Air Programme (PBCTA10), will be held for four days and three nights, in conjunction with the 31st Brunei Darussalam National Day celebrations.
The camp aims to create a platform to prepare youths both physically and mentally prior to executing their patriotic and service activities to the nation and society.
It also intends to instil a sense of pride and love for Brunei Darussalam.
The programme is divided into three phases. The first is the Youth Nationhood Camp; the second is the project implementation to be held nationwide while the third phase is the parade participation for the 31st National Day celebrations. This will be followed by side events namely the 31 times Khatam Ceremony and the PBCTA10 Appreciation Night.
The programme is supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Royal Brunei Police Force, Radio Televisyen Brunei, Information Department, Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe), Department of Museums, Department of Economic Planning and Development, History Centre, UBD, Brunei-Muara District Office, Belait District Office, Tutong District Office, Temburong District Office and Jalinan Akrab Belia Terunggul Club as well as involved youth associations.
