THREE teams from Miri and another from Sibu have been invited to compete in the wushu competition of the Brunei Darussalam National Games which is set to kick start at the Menglait Sport Complex today.
The confirmation of the participation of the four teams from Sarawak was revealed in a preparatory meeting chaired by national wushu coach Li Hui yesterday.
More than 80 wushu exponents will be competing in this year’s sporting festival.
At the meeting, Li Hui said the tournament served to expose our junior exponents to competition not only within the country but also against teams from overseas.
The local teams that are participating in the competition comprised exponents from Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Kuala Belait and Temburong.
A total of 23 gold medals will be contested in various disciplines and among them are Changquan, Quanshu, Gunshu, Nanquan, Nandao and Jianshu.
Members of the public are encouraged to come and support their respective teams competing in the wushu competition today from 9am onwards at the Menglait Sport Complex.
