A ROADSHOW and workshop for TheGigLand.Com was held yesterday at the Nakhoda Ragam Vocational School’s (SVNR) multi-purpose hall, which was facilitated by the founder and Creative Director at Musegeeks Technologies, Zalifah Aswana bte Latip.
Participants consisted of students enrolled in cosmetology, communication technology, electrical and electronics engineering, interior design and geomatics courses.
The workshop began with a presentation by students pursuing their Diploma in Geomatics and Diploma in Planning Development, on their project entitled “SVNR Staff Network”, which won second place in the Tertiary School Project category during the recently held Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA).
Students were also briefed on freelance work and its benefits, marketing their expertise in Brunei and abroad and making use of TheGigLand.Com application as a means of earning extra income.
Zalifah Aswana’s personal achievements in recent years include winning the ‘Most Innovative’ award as well as coming second place in the ‘ICT Open Category’ with her ‘Rendevous’ social app project in a 2012-2013 competition.
