MEMBERS of the Focus Group of Perak yesterday expressed their interest to share ideas and experience on how to eradicate poverty with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) .
Led by YB Dato’ Saarani bin Mohamad, the Committee Chairman for Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture, Housing and Local Government, 36 members of Perak’s Focus Group visited the YSHHB office yesterday.
Dato’ Saarani, who is also the chairperson of the Darul Ridzuan Capacity Building Foundation of Perak, said, “Two years ago, officials from YSHHB visited Darul Ridzuan capacity building Foundation.
“(Yesterday’s) visit was aimed at exchanging ideas and views, as we wanted to gain a better understanding of the role and activities of YSHHB in eradicating poverty in Brunei Darussalam.”
On the outcome of yesterday’s visit, YB Dato’ Saarani said there could be lessons that the delegation could bring back to Perak to be implemented.
He also praised YSHHB for their contribution to the community over the years.
Dato’ Saarani noted that there was potential for more cooperation between Perak Focus Group and YSHHB to be forged.
On hand to welcome Dato’ Saarani yesterday was Awang Hj Musthapa bin Hj Matahir, the Assistant Managing Director of YSHHB.
The visitors were briefed on the functions and roles of YSHHB by Dk Azami Pg Hj Ahmad, the Public Relations Officer of YSHHB, in which she highlighted His Majesty’s consent for the establishment of YSHHB on October 5, 1992, in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee celebration of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.
