A COURSE on understanding the correct way of performing the Qasar and Jamak prayers was held yesterday at the Kg Perpindahan Serasa Mosque for women congregants from the Brunei-Muara District.
The guest of honour was Ustazah Hjh Aisyah binti Hj Abdul Ghani, the wife of the Acting Director of Mosque Affairs.
The course began with the recitation of Al-Fatihah, followed by a welcoming speech from the the chairperson, Datin Sarimah binti Hj Mokhtar, who is the head of the women congregants at the Kg Perpindahan Serasa Mosque.
The objectives of the course were the provision of accurate information pertaining to the correct way conducting these prayers, the promotion of mosques as centres for knowledge to the general community, instilling a sense of unity and cooperation among women worshippers as well as carrying out annual activities organised by the Mosque Affairs Department.
Regarding the Qasar and Jamak prayers, participants were taught its historical background, the practicality of these prayers and the ways of carrying it out. Prior to the course’s conclusión, a question-and-answer session took place.
The course ended with the presentation of certificates by Datin Sarimah to participants.
