THE nationwide women’s special assemblies took place yesterday in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration.
One of the assemblies was held at the Convention Centre, Kuala Belait, where the guest of honour was Hajah Zainab binti Haji Abdul Wahab, spouse of the Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education.
The event began with the recitation of Quranic verses by Roslina binti Haji Timbang, a senior Al-Quran teacher at Perdana Wazir Religious School. Hazalina binti Dhalan, co-chairperson of the Women’s Special Assembly in Kuala Belait, delivered a speech during the event that was followed by a Tausyeh performance entitled ‘Solatun’.
The event then saw Hajah Rogayah binti Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Wahid from Islamic Dakwah Centre presenting a talk entitled “Loving Rasulullah SAW”.
She said it is crucial to bring women together in playing their role in shaping a pious generation through the family institution, based on the true teachings of Islam.
The event continued with a “Ya Nabi Salam Alaik” Nasyid performance and a Dikir Marhaban.
