THIS time of the year is usually an anxious period for school leavers and their parents who are trying to settle their further studies options. The forthcoming StudyUK Application Exhibition on February 15 at The Empire Hotel & Country Club will provide an ideal opportunity to meet a number of top universities under one roof.
Students hoping to meet the cost of funding their studies through scholarships or study loans are required to meet specific criteria. These include academic achievements and demonstrated interest in the subject and career. The StudyUK Exhibition provides ample opportunities to gather all relevant information pertaining to the programme, thus enabling the student to make knowledgeable discussions with the selection panel.
Through direct interaction with staff from participating universities, students and parents will get real and up-to-date information on a wide variety of academic and professional training courses. The visiting representative will also be able to assess the student’s eligibility and in certain cases make offers subject to formal application.
The representative will also discuss with the student any new developments in the programme and specific features that have been introduced into the programme.
Students who have already submitted their application can obtain an update on their progress status and also use the exhibition as a platform to identify their final selection.
The timing of the exhibition means that students will be able to make informed decisions about the course and university choice and the application is sorted out in time for the scholarship deadline. The participating universities, which are all accredited by Brunei, have a history of receiving students from Brunei. Some of the universities are highly specialised and the students will be assured that they are entering a programme that meets their academic background as well as their future career aspirations.
The event organisers, HRDS Services, have been involved in university placement and education project management for over 18 years. Experienced counsellors will be on hand throughout the exhibition to provide additional assistance in identifying programmes that meet the manpower requirements of Brunei. The student should make sure that he brings all his certificates when he visits the exhibition.
StudyUK Exhibition will be held at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel & Country Club on February 15 from 2pm to 7pm.
