THE first-ever Women’s Business Council (WBC) Charity Golf Tournament yesterday has successfully raised a total of $8,000. The amount was handed over to the National Orphans Fund under the Department of Community Development, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The donation was handed over to the National Orphans Fund by Datin Paduka Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Zakiah, the President of Women’s Business Council and witnessed by Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Datin Paduka Hajah Rokiah in her welcoming remarks noted that it was quite a challenging task for members of WBC and its committee to organise such an event for the first time.
However, with hard work and cooperation from committee members, the tournament became a reality.
She made a special mention of Awang Seruji Hj Setia as the chairman of the working committee and his team from RBAGC for the advice in assisting WBC in the overall management of the tournament.
The Brunei Ladies Golf Association also received a special mention for their assistance in making the tournament a success.
At the event, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina also presented appreciation certificates to the sponsors.
