I WISH to highlight on behalf of the residents of RPN Lumut Kawasan 2 (New Terrace) that we have moved here since a year ago, but do not have a telephone line/e-Speed at our place.
The wait has been quite frustrating not knowing when we will get telephone service.
We have been using only our mobile phones since we moved here. The data signal is so weak that we can’t even load a simple webpage.
Some of us using pre-paid service have to top up more frequently because of this.
Using broadband is also useless in our area because there is no service at all and from what we have been told our area is close to oil and gas facilities hence causing difficulties in having such services.
I have been to TelBru several times to enquire about the telephone line and e-Speed services, but their response was not encouraging.
I thank His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for providing us with housing but the communication facilities are too slow to catch up with the needs of the people.
As we know, Internet has not only become a lifestyle for modern society, but its availability a necessity that cannot be ignored.
In addition to being a window of information for people who need, Internet has become a part and parcel of our life without which we cannot survive.
Why can’t we be provided with telephone lines and Internet?
