HO CHI MINH CITY (Bernama) – Vietnam and South Korea’s environment ministers held their 11th conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday on the progress of environmental projects, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.
The projects form South Korea’s help to Vietnam in amending and implementing the Law on Environmental Protection and to improve the legal framework for the rehabilitation of contaminated land and groundwater.
The two countries have worked together to build an integrated toxic waste management system in Vietnam, and to promote investment and business activities in environmental protection.
Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nguyen Minh Quang said he hoped the two sides will continue to carry out specific projects in the field.
A Vietnam-South Korea environment business forum was held on the sidelines of the meeting which provided opportunities for businesses and environmentalists to network and share experience.
Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thi My Linh said the number of Korean investors in the domestic environment sector has increased over the past few years.
