SOME 106 street vendors have set up shops on the streets of Jalan Pemancha and a section of Jalan Pretty as a sideline activity to complement the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Go-Kart Race 2014 held in conjunction with the 44th anniversary of the renaming of the capital to Bandar Seri Begawan.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place yesterday for the beginning of the sales and was officiated by YB Awang Haji Gapor @ Haji Mohd Daud bin Karim, a member of the Legislative Council.
The opening hours for the stalls are from 6am to 10pm today.
Present at the ceremony was Acting Chairman of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board, Haji Mansor bin Haji Mohd Yassin, in his capacity as the chairman of the working committee for the BSB Go-Kart Race, and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Other activities will include a mini food bazaar, charity sale, deejay competition, a “Snap and Win” contest by Kingston Beverage and Creamery Sdn Bhd, a Strongest Man competition, Tamiya race, fitness demonstration and a vintage car show.
