UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through the Post Graduate and Research Educational Centre is organising a research workshop as a preliminary step to encourage academic workforce to explore and love research.
The target group is the local academic workforce from UNISSA. Three facilitators from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are invited Prof Dr Muhammad Syukri Salleh, Director of Islamic Development Management Research Centre (ISDEV), Dr Zakaria Bahari, Deputy Director of ISDEV and Dr Wan NorHaniza binti Wan Hassan, a lecturer of ISDEV.
Research field is seen to embolden the profile of a university and will become a benchmark in determining the position of a university nationally and internationally.
UNISSA aims to take heed of other progressive universities in the field of research to realise its vision and mission.
More so as it has been mentioned by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during the 4th Convocation of UNISSA where the monarch stressed the need for UNISSA to widen and enhance its research.
This is also in line with the academic workforce service scheme which has listed research as among the criteria to qualify academic workforce to a better level.
The objectives are to disseminate information on research, to introduce format and effective and appropriate presentation in making research proposal, to share the technique of quality research and to enhance skills in research.
From the workshop, participants are expected to receive knowledge on how to present correct and accurate research proposal, to outline the structure of quality research framework and to acquire accuracy on research techniques.
