Use apples and yoghurt to make a refreshing face mask at home

(DPA) – A German farmers’ association has come up with a novel way to use leftover apples in your fruit bowl: Make a face mask to help treat oily skin.

Apple flesh is filled with vitamins and antioxidants, according to the German Association of Fruit and Vegetable Growers (BOG). And zinc, also found in apples, fights pimples and blackheads.

Antioxidants can protect against free radicals, which cause damage to skin cells. Stress, smoking and sun exposure exacerbate the effects of free radicals.

The association recommends mixing two tablespoons of yoghurt with one tablespoon of honey. Apply the cream to your face, and then place thin slices of apple on top. After a quarter of an hour, rinse off with warm water.
