DURING the ongoing 100 Years of Formal Education Exhibition at International Convention Centre, the ‘Halaltech’ Team from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) is showcasing its mobile application that allows consumers to shop for groceries.
Halaltech’s barcode scanning can determine whether products are halal.
The Halaltech Team comprising Nurulain Jumat, Nur Aqilah Hj Shari and Nor Sa’ariah Hazirah Mohd Ramli competed at BICTA 2013 and won Special Mention Awards. The team was also second runner-up for Ignite 2013.
Nurulain Jumat said the objective of developing the app was to provide the best halal verification solution for the Muslim community.
Nur Aqilah Hj Shari said they wanted to create a “world-leading halal information provider”.
They revealed that even though the development process was difficult and time consuming, it was all worthwhile.
Team Halaltech also mentioned that they would add more features to the application as soon as the app is ready for launch.
