A NUMBER of academic and community activities are being organised by students from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), who are currently involved in a community service and placement programme for boarding schools in Cianjur Province, Indonesia.
According to a press release from the university yesterday, the fourth day of the programme, designed according to the suitability of their students and to fulfil the needs of the boarding schools, saw them teaching the Arabic and English languages as well as Islamic Banking at the selected boarding schools.
Ten UNISSA students are currently divided into groups in the programme, doing their placement in two boarding schools, namely “Miftahulhuda Al-Musri” and “Al-Musri”.
With a very encouraging response from the boarding school students, UNISSA said other spiritual activities in the form of “tazkirah” such as relaying the importance of cleanliness was also held, which later saw a cleaning campaign at the boarding school premises in addition to other recreational activities.
UNISSA’s Dean of Students who is also the the group’s accompanying officer, Dr Azme bin Haji Matali, is leading the Brunei group in the programme.
