THE Community Service Programme currently being organised by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) students in Cianjur, Indonesia has entered its ninth day.
The programme included various academic and social activities that have met the needs of the “pesantren” (religious school).
The programme, which is led by UNISSA Dean of Student, Dr Azme bin Haji Matali, will continue until December 28, 2014.
UNISSA students held some religious practical activities at the Pesantren Miftahulhuda al-Musri’ to teach four-year-old students the proper way to perform ablution and prayers.
They also built a bridge using bamboo for the convenience of the community.
Meanwhile at the Pesantren al-Musri’, various social activities including the English Language Workshop was conducted by another group of UNISSA students.
In addition, the students also conducted a presentation on Brunei Darussalam highlighting the local currency, traditional musical instruments, wedding tradition and local delicacies.
