A MUSHAF Writer of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Wan Habib bin Wan Ibrahim, who was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Civilisation in UNISSA, passed away yesterday at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
A family member of the late Wan Habib said the Mushaf Writer had complained of a headache in the morning and was later found to have fainted.
He was then rushed to RIPAS Hospital where he passed away at 4pm.
Allahyarham Wan Habib was the youngest of 15 siblings and is survived by his wife and two boys aged 13 and 12.
The late Mushaf Writer will be buried this morning at the Kampong Sengkarai Cemetery, Tutong.
Allahyarham Wan Habib was tasked to continue writing the 113 surahs in the handwritten Mushaf that would be UNISSA’s “Mace” and “Parade Head” in the UNISSA Hafl al-Takharruj (Convocation) after His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to write the “Ummul Qur’an”, Surah Al-Fatihah, in October 24, 2011.
