UNDERPRIVILEGED students from various schools across Tutong District yesterday were presented with free tickets for the upcoming ‘Dino Park Exhibition 2015’.
Attending as the guest of honour was Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, the Tutong District Officer, who received the tickets from a representative of the organising committee, Noor Ilham bin Jafar.
A total of 2,000 tickets were given to students from 30 primary schools, five secondary schools, a sixth form centre and seven private schools in the Tutong District.
Several underprivileged families listed by the Tutong District Office also received free tickets.
Donating the free tickets was part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of ATPD Sdn Bhd, the organisers.
Held in collaboration with Digimark Enterprise, Xplorer and Welcom Enterprise, the exhibition will be held for 37 days starting on March 7 until April 12 at the Bridex Hall in Jerudong.
In her speech, Siti Joriahati binti Johari, the Special Duties Officer from the Tutong District Office, said that the generous donations will give recipients the opportunity to keep up with the ever-changing technology which will be displayed during the exhibition.
“It will also give exposure and provide new experience to recipients as an ‘eye-opener’ from the various dinosaur replicas on display as well as with a video made in 5D and 7D which has never been seen in Brunei. The video also includes an experience on-board a futuristic transport,” she explained.
Also present at the ceremony was Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, Assistant Tutong District Officer; Md Asul Hamhaidi bin Haji Mohd Ashrane, representative from the Tourism Development Board; senior officials, Penghulus and Village Heads from the Tutong District.
