SANDAKAN (Bernama) – The Community Engagement Programme conducted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) focusing on primary and secondary school students is a meaningful project which benefits students in rural areas.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the programme by the Curriculum and Student Development Center helped encourage students to persistently strive in gaining a place in institutes of higher learning.
He said the yearly event was one of the University Community Engagement projects to contribute to rural communities.
“Indirectly the project enables UMS to help in terms of providing education and social services to the communities in Sabah,” he said when launching the Community Engagement Programme and Curriculum Carnival at Sungei Daling near here, yesterday.
Among activities included in the programme were academic exhibitions, motivation talks, beautification of nursery schools and streets and mosques clean up.
