A TOTAL of 11 undergraduates and a PhD student specialising in counselling from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) visited Pusat Bahagia Brunei-Muara branch in Kampong Pulaie yesterday.
The purpose of the visit was to allow the undergraduates to understand the programmes offered at Pusat Bahagia, as well exposing them to the importance of counselling services for people with special needs.
The visit was led by Dr Hajah Salwa binti Dato Seri Setia Haji Mahalle and Hajah Norzaiham binti Haji Abdullah, lecturers at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE) at UBD.
The delegation visited the classrooms, craft rooms and workshop, and also had a chance to mingle with the special needs children. They also witnessed performances by the children.
The delegation also had the opportunity to listen to a briefing on the functions and objectives as well as the role of Pusat Bahagia by Community Development Officer, Raimah binti Mohamad. After the briefing, the head of the UBD delegation presented goody bags to the students of Pusat Bahagia.
