THE High Court yesterday ordered a 45-year-old Indian man who had been accussed in the UBD murder and attempted murder case to be confined in prison until further decision.
Justice Dato Paduka Steven Chong granted DPP Hajah Rozaimah Haji Abdul Rahman’s application for the defendant to be confined in prison, pending the High Court’s report to the Prime Minister’s Office for a further decision.
Sekar Appavu was found to be of unsound mind after undergoing psychiatric evaluation at RIPAS Hospital.
The Special Investigations Unit revealed that Sekar is alleged to have murdered 45-year-old Rajendran Kumarasami and attempted to murder 40-year-old Pazhanivelu Sivalinkam at about 12.30pm on December 20 at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD)’s Green House, Jalan Tungku Link, Gadong.
