A DELEGATION of eight lecturers and a Masters student from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) participated in a three-day bilateral seminar from January 11 until 14 at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ).
The seminar, with the theme “Strengthening Malay/Indonesia Language and Culture”, was organised by UNJ’s Language and Culture Faculty and UBD’s Malay Language, Literature and Culture programme under its Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Among the topics discussed during the seminar were on language issues and case studies.
UBD masters student Syahwal Nizam Hj Yani presented his paperwork titled “Antologi Sajak Perjalanan Terakhir Anakku Yang Hilang Karya Yahya M S Dialek Melayu Brunei dan Jati Diri”.
Among the objectives of the seminar were to strengthen ties between both universities and exchange ideas on handling the challenges faced by the Malay community such as language, culture and literature.
