TWO local men were brought before the Magistrate’s Court yesterday for committing offences under the country’s Misuse of Drugs Act.
It was heard during the hearing that the duo, Mohd Aizamri bin Nasri and Shah Rony @ Mohammad Zieyad bin Abdul Rahman were apprehended at the Labu Immigration Control Post in the Temburong District following the discovery of three packets crystalline substances, believed to be drugs, that were found in their car’s glove compartment. The vehicle belonged to the first defendant’s wife.

To further build the case against the defendants, the Deputy Public Prosecutor requested for the men to be remanded at the Jerudong Prison for two weeks for further investigations. There will be further mention of the case on October 27.
Taking the opportunity to speak to the court, the second defendant requested to meet with his wife and two children who were present at the court’s building in the capital – a request that was granted and limited to 15 minutes before the defendants were transported to prison.
