THOUSANDS of Tutong residents and visitors visited the Youth Open Day in Tutong, which ended yesterday with a closing ceremony. The Tutong District Officer, Awg Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, officiated the closing ceremony and presented prizes to the winners of some of the competitions.
The two-day event was held at the Tutong Sports Complex and was organised by the Department of Youth and Sports, Tutong District, at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in conjunction with the ninth National Youth Day celebrations this year.
Among the activities were bazaars, reptile show, a classic car show, flying fox, sports tournaments, colouring and loom band contests and a blood donation drive.
The event hoped to provide opportunities for youths to express themselves in entrepreneurship and volunteerism as well as to strengthen the bonds of the community.
