THE moment Tutong residents were waiting for arrived with the opening of the district’s first cinema under Times Cineplex. A ribbon cutting ceremony officiated the opening of Times Cineplex, Tutong branch.
The guest of honour at the event was Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohd Jaafar, member of the Legislative Council.
Also present were Times Cineplex’s Managing Director, Hambali bin Pehin Dato Haji Md Salleh and Tutong District Officer, Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali.
The event began with an opening speech by Hambali and a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a tour of the cinema by the guest of honour accompanied by Hambali and government officials.
The new cineplex at the Berjaya Complex along Jln Pengiran Hj Ahmad, Kg Petani, is the third Times Cineplex cinema.
The cineplex near Petani Mall has a floor space of approximately 1,500 square metres and has four cinema halls where Cinemas 2, 3 and 4 can accommodate about 84 customers and Cinema 1 is able to accommodate up to 172 people.
There is ample legroom and the fixed backrests are fully upholstered with foam and fixed armrests padded with polyurethane cup holders providing a luxurious experience for customers.
Built with state-of-the-art digital technology complete with four Digital Projection Systems, one 3-D system, four cinema screens and four surround sound systems, Times Cineplex Tutong guarantees satisfactory movie experience as it delivers blockbuster films.
For customers’ convenience, there are three Box Office counters for ticket purchasing and for those craving for something sweet, the food and beverage bar is serving Times Cineplex’s popular popcorn and combos.
The cineplex’s employees – mostly Bruneians – were trained at the main branch in Times Square to deliver quality customer service.
