Tutong eco cook-off spices up weekend

IT WAS a day with great food, fun and nature as eco buffs, foodies and budding chefs made their way to Eco Ponies Garden in Kampong Bang Nukat in Lamunin, Tutong to be part of ‘Journey To Nature’ held over the weekend.

Co-organised by Eco Ponies Garden, Eko Kampung and Eko Brunei, the eco cum cooking event carried a nature theme, showcasing Brunei as an eco and food tourism destination. At the same time, it supported small businesses from the Tutong community.

Visitors savored the Eko Cooking Challenge, which saw chefs Nova, Faisal Rahman, Wartono, Siti Komariah, Indra Prawira, Filah Amin, Jali, and Khairy and Norma face off against each other to come up with classic local delicacies in a show of culinary prowess.

The scent of their delectable creations, whipped up using local products and ingredients sourced from local vendors, filled the air as guest judges Maurina binti Abdul Hamid, Hakim of URBN Kitchen and chef Kathy took turns rating the contestants’ dishes.
