A TRIO of locals yesterday pleaded not guilty to charges of house break-in by night and the Intermediate Court fixed a further mention date to set trial.
Mohammad Shahlan bin Haji Chuchu, 40, and 28-year-old Mohammad Ezam bin Tuah are alleged to have broken into a house at Jalan Ban 3, Kg Sengkurong during the wee hours between November 22 and 23.
Both defendants along with 27-year-old Ak Khairul Hanif bin Pg Rosli also allegedly committed house break-in by night in Tungku, Gadong during the wee hours of November 24 and 25.
Deputy Public Prosecutors Dk Nurul Pg Rosli and Danial Kifrawi told the court they are ready with their witnesses for the trial.
Lawyer Ahmad Zakaria who is representing Mohammad Shahlan also informed having witnesses in their defence.
Judge Pg Hjh Hanani Pg Hj Metussain fixed the case for further mention on January 5, 2015.
The defendants’ bail release of $5,000 or two local sureties were extended.
Ak Khairul Hanif hired Ahmad Zakaria’s representation at the end of the court day yesterday.
