IN AN effort to improve and upgrade bus services in the Temburong District, the Land Transport Department has carried out a survey involving 800 individuals in the district and will be analysing the data.
The latest development in the move to upgrade the bus services as well as inter-district bus network was revealed by Acting Director at the Land Transport Department, Dr Hj Supry bin Hj Awg Ladi on the sidelines of a press conference on the National Road Safety Seminar yesterday.
“We had conducted a study on the Temburong bus network whereby as many as 800 respondents have given their feedback and we will be analysing the data. We will be heading back to Temburong to carry out more studies,” he said.
Dr Hj Supry also revealed that studies have been carried out on bus services in Kuala Belait and Seria looking into more connectivity and frequency of buses.
“At the moment there are six buses operating in Kuala Belait and Seria. We will be moving back to Kuala Belait and Seria to pinpoint the bus stops. From there, we will work with relevant agencies to provide more bus stops to look for more connectivity,” he said.
Touching on the feedback on the launch of the colour-coded buses last year, he said that there has been a slight increase in ridership in terms of input received.
“We are currently working on adding more bus routes for the convenience of the public,” he said. “We will be continuously working with bus operators nationwide to improve the bus services in the country.”
