VARIOUS top of the line industrial technology products are being showcased at the two-day Brunei Industrial Technology Expo & Conference (BITEx) at Pusat Insani Seria, Belait.
The exhibition was officially opened by Dyg Hjh Normah Suria Hayati binti Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama (Dr) Haji Awang Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
Dato Jerel Soo, Managing Director of Fireworks Event (M) Sdn Bhd, expressed his confidence in achieving success with the event, saying it was bringing in suppliers and manufacturers of latest industrial technologies from all over the world.
He added that 2,000 to 3,000 trade visitors from Brunei were expected, with $50 million in trade transactions forecast by the end of the event.
The conference during the exhibition was also crucial for the exhibitors to educate the industries here about their latest technologies, said Soo.
He said he believed there is a lot of information on the latest technologies that has not fully reached the local industry players.
BITEx boasts big names such as Aker Solution Sdn Bhd, Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, Yokogawa Engineering Sdn Bhd.
There are also exhibitors from categories such as in subsea production equipment, offshore field production, provider in industrial automation and control and more.
The exhibition yesterday saw a talk on “Process Automation Conference – A Gathering Of Process Industry Experts” by Confex and Fireworks Event (M) Sdn Bhd.
Visitors will be able to view a myriad of latest products and industrial technologies.
Visitors can also get hands-on experience with the products.
The inaugural event is being held for the first time in Brunei.
Soo said next year’s edition would be on a larger scale.
“Hopefully, it can be a yearly event. We want the local industries to be regularly educated and updated on the latest in technological advancement through this exhibition, which features world class exhibitors from Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, United States, China, Italy, Germany, Indonesia, Japan and more.
Admission to BITEx, which ends today, is complimentary and open only to trade visitors and educational institutes.
