TOM Hardy, Ryan Gosling and Will Smith are close to signing on for new superhero movie ‘Suicide Squad’, according to reports.
The trio of actors are in negotiations with Warner Bros about lead roles in the DC Comics adventure as well as actress Margot Robbie.
According to Deadline, early talks have gone well and the four stars are keen to sign up for the blockbuster, which is scheduled to be the next DC release after 2016’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
The project will be directed by David Ayer and is scheduled for a mid-to-late 2016 release.
The Suicide Squad – who first appeared in DC Comics in 1959 – is comprised of imprisoned supervillains who are used covertly by the US government for black-op missions in return for pardoned prison sentences.
The line-up of the team changed on the comics throughout the years but notable members have included Deadshot, King Shark, Black Manta, Harley Quinn and Deathstroke. BANG!
