NINETY-FOUR graduates from Tinkerbell Learning School (TLS) were celebrated recently in the 12th Closing Exercise Ceremony, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Scout Headquarters in Kampong Mata-Mata, Gadong.
Present to officiate the ceremony was the guest of honour, Haji Kassim bin Haji Ibrahim, Education Officer of Private Institutions Section, Ministry of Education. Also present were John Robert Bartholomew, the school’s President, Hajah Normah binti Haji Said, Director, and Iidil Rahmah binti Abdullah, Principal. The event commenced with the singing of the national anthem by Year 6 students and a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Mohammad Taib Azamuddin bin Haji Mohammad Asri, one of the school’s teachers.
The event was followed by a welcoming speech from the President, John Robert Bartholomew, on how they prepare the students for their future. According to him, this can be recognised through the speed and extent of changes that have overtaken the digital age, which has given an easy access to limitless information and resources, such as compact mobile phones and smart phones, laptops, computers and tablets and many more.
He further added, “This also relates to our theme for this year, ‘Preparing Children for a Changing World’.”
Meanwhile, the guest of honour also stressed that the academic achievement of a school depends on the plans and programmes that have been strategically planned and prepared with research and analysis.
The guest of honour then presented certificates and prizes to the graduates, most outstanding students and excellent students in academic. The event concluded with several singing and dancing performances by the students.
