THE Times Square Shopping Centre held a Chinese calligraphy demonstration yesterday led by the chairman of the Chinese Calligraphy Association, Master Yu Chin Chai from 2pm until 5pm, in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year. The aim of the association is to raise awareness of Chinese calligraphy to the new generation.
Some of the customers requested Master Yu and association to write a few words or names for them as a way to promote the traditional culture.
Times Square will also be giving out oranges to the public on February 19. Shoppers who shop and dine at Times Square can participate in Times Square’s fifth series lucky draw which is held once in every three months.
To join the draw, shoppers need to make a purchase of any amount at the shopping centre and drop their filled receipts in the lucky draw box in Times Square.
Twenty daily draw finalists will be contacted every day and these daily draw winners will then be eligible to win the grand prize in the next lucky draw.
Times Square has also announced that there will be upcoming events in March such as Edutainment and Hobbies Carnival. There will be upcoming competitions such as Colouring Competition, Dress up Competition, Spelling Bee, Shop, Dine & Snap Campaign, and many more.
For more information and registration, the public can visit the lucky draw booth at Times Square atrium.
