A THANKSGIVING prayer ceremony for the return of the 10th International Monitoring Team (IMT) bound for Mindanao, the Philippines, and the return of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel who participated in the peacekeeping mission under United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was held at Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
The head of the 10th IMT contingent was Lieutenant Colonel Khairil bin Haji Ismail.
The IMT contingent members include eight other RBAF officers and personnel. The contingent left the country on September 13 last year and returned on September 9.
Meanwhile, the head of the returned UNIFIL contingent was Major Saifullizan bin Mohd Tuah.
The UNIFIL contingent included 25 RBAF officers and personnel. The contingent left the country on July 5 last year and returned on October 3.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat; Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah; Acting Director of Operations Department Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Haji Mohd Don bin Haji Harith, members of the Defence Executive Committee, civilian and military directors and senior officers as well as personnel from the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
