THE Chief of Defence of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Worapong Sanganetra, and a delegation led by him, visited the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Museum at Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
General Worapong Sanganetra’s arrival at the museum was greeted by Capt (U) Wan Muhammad Azem bin Haji Muhammad Aminuddin from the Directorate of Intelligence of Ministry of Defence.
Also present during the visit was Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
Before proceeding to the galleries, General Worapong Sanganetra was briefed by Capt (U) Wan Muhammad Azem on the RBAF Museum, which was established on January 1, 1979.
The museum was reopened after its renovation on June 1, 2013 in conjunction with RBAF’s 52nd Anniversary.
The RBAF Museum is divided into seven indoor galleries and one outdoor gallery.
Its objective is to provide important information on RBAF’s history as well as to act as a reference place for both current and future generations.
The museum has a video presentation on the short history of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The RBAF Museum showcases the Overview Gallery, Timeline Gallery, Training Gallery, The Formative Years, Capabilities Development, Local, Regional & International Roles of the RBAF and Annexe Gallery.
