HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) has consented to award Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance, the Royal Thai Air Force Commander-in-Chief, with the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Honorary Pilot Wing.
The award, presented to the Commander-in-Chief by Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit in a ceremony at the RBAirF Headquarters in Rimba yesterday, is in recognition for his valuable efforts and outstanding services in strengthening ties between the RBAirF and Royal Thai Air Force.
The programmes outlined during the introductory visit by Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance comprised of courtesy calls to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat; and the Acting Commander of RBAF, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit at Bolkiah Garrison as well as the Commander of RBAirF, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Wardi bin Haji Abdul Latip at the RBAirF Headquarters.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defence, Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance became the 23rd Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force on October 1, 2014. As a graduate from the Bundeswehr University Munich in the Federal Republic of Germany, Air Chief Marshal Treetod has brought his outstanding academic achievement into his profound military career.In addition to his flying skill, his professionalism also covers other various branches of career paths.
According to his policy as the new leadership of the Royal Thai Air Force, he is determined to continue with the vision in becoming “One of the Best Air Forces in Asean” through the strategic guideline of the Network Centric Air Force.
The Air Chief Marshal Sonjance and his wife as well as his delegation were here for a one-day introductory visit.
