IT WAS a test of speed and appetite at the 15th Consumer Fair (CF15) held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday, as participants raced against the clock in hopes of taking home prizes awaiting them in the various challenges lined up on the last day of the fair.
Kingston Beverage & Creamery rolled out its Pepsi Bottle Cap Challenge and Ice Cream Feeding and Eating Challenge.
The Pepsi Bottle Cap Challenge required contestants to hang as many bottle caps on hooks on the challenge board, with each challenger allowed two chances.
Syarifah, who recorded the fastest time, was crowned the winner and awarded with a Pepsi hamper. The six consolation prize winners took home a crate of 330ml bottled Pepsi and a Pepsi shopping bag. The prizes were presented by Kingston Beverage and Creamery Marketing Executive Ivy Belle P Tiongco.
The Kingston Ice Cream Feeding and Eating Contest saw Team Prescilla and Cristy taking first place, each winning a carton of 1.5litres Kingston Prestige Ice Cream.
Team Afizal and Anthony Lee each received a carton of Kingston Classic Pint Ice Cream, while Team Hartini and Farah each received a carton of Kingston Banana Split Stick Ice Cream.
In this challenge, the contestants were blindfolded and put in teams of two. They were then required to feed their partners. The team that finished their cup of ice cream the quickest was named winner.
The winners received their prizes from Kingston Beverage and Creamery Sdn Bhd Business Development Executive Faizal Rosli.
Meanwhile, Sufri Saruji took home two Acer Iconia Tab 8 W’s after emerging victor in both the GMP Foods Superwings Eating Challenge and Dairy Queen (DQ) Hotdog Maniac Challenge, defeating nine contestants in each challenge.
In the GMP Foods Superwings Eating Challenge, contestants were required to down a plate of 10 chicken wings in 10 minutes, while contestants of the Dairy Queen Hotdog Maniac Challenge had to eat through a plate of three hotdogs in 10 minutes.
Olive Tree Corporation Director Ahmad Tarmizi bin Dato Paduka Hj Yusof awarded Sufri Saruji with the top prizes, while the remaining contestants received consolation prizes in the form of $20 vouchers to Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut.
