THE Temburong District men’s softball team are determined to defend their championship title after winning the softball event at the 1st Brunei Darussalam National Games (SKBD) in 2012.
According to Temburong District men’s softball team manager, Pg Irwan bin Pg Hj Mohd Salleh, the men’s team have been training five times a week since October in preparation for the 2nd Brunei Darussalam National Games and will try their very best to defend their title this year.
The team were runner-up in the 9th National Sports Festival (PSK) 2010 before the games were re-branded to Brunei Darussalam National Games (SKBD) in 2012.
Meanwhile, the Temburong District ladies softball team have undergone the same training sessions with the men and are ready for the tournament.
“The ladies team were last in the 9th National Sports Festival in 2010 but the team have a different set of players this year and we see a lot of improvements, especially with some national squad players in the team. We will try our best to win and bring honour to Temburong District,” said the Assistant Manager Dk Hjh Dewi Sarhani binti Pg Hj Sarpuddin.
The Temburong District ladies team are led by Pengiran Anak Basheer bin Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaluddin Al-Haj.
Both men and ladies teams are coached by Hj Mohd Shuhardi bin Hj Sarpuddin and assisted by Pg Khairul Iskandar bin Pg Matusin.
