THE Town and Country Planning Department yesterday launched the Temburong District Plan Roadshow at the Bumiputera Complex Hall in Bangar.
Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Development Haji Muhammad Lutfi bin Haji Abdullah officiated the launch of the roadshow, which among others, aimed to provide the public, specifically Temburong District residents, the opportunity to observe the development strategy and land use plans recommended for the Temburong District until 2025, and at the same time, to gather public feedback.
The goal of the Temburong District Plan is to provide a spatial planning guide directed towards the long-term development of the district. It also showcased potential areas for development and growth centre progress, road network, etc.
The exhibition is part of the process in acquiring stakeholders’ involvement along the stages of preparation. The process reflects the Town and Country Planning Department’s concern in ensuring the improvement plans are adopted by the public and stakeholders.
Ensuring the involvement of the public, through dialogues and such exhibitions, will allow for the collection of inputs and additional information that will add value to future plans.
The one-day Temburong District Plan exhibition, which ran until 4pm, also saw the attendance of YB Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Ahad, member of the State Legislative Council; Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development; Ajmin bin Haji Sulaiman, Acting Temburong District Officer and Assistant Director General of Public Works Department; the Commissioner of Town and Country Planning; Acting Assistant Commissioner of Town and Country Planning; Mukim Penghulus; Temburong District village heads and senior government officers.
