A CONTINGENT of 82 members from Brunei comprising of the Chef de Mission, 62 athletes, four team managers, nine coaches, two medical officers and four secretariat officers left for Labuan Federal Territory yesterday to participate in the 8th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games 2014 from December 6 -10.
Seeing the team off at Serasa Ferry Terminal, Muara yesterday was guest of honour, Haji Mohd Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. He also presented the national flag to Chef de Mission Pengiran Anak Md Sofian bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ibrahim, who is also Acting Head of Youth and Sport.
Also present at the event was Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Mohammad, Director of the Department Youth and Sports as well as officers from Youth and Sports Department.
Haji Mohd Noor Jusmin gave words of encouragement to the contingent and mingled with participants before their departure.
The contingent will participate in five sports category namely, football, futsal, athletics, Pencak Silat and Sepak Takraw.
