TEACHERS of St George’s School made an educational cum leisure trip to Malacca and Kuala Lumpur during the recent school term holiday. The entourage was led by the School Principal Janidi Jingan, and accompanied by the Chairman of School Board of Governor Anthony Liew Vun Chiang.
Twenty-two teachers from kindergarten, primary and secondary levels participated in the study tour and they visited two prestigious schools in Malacca. The entourage visited Methodist Girls’ Secondary School and Convent Infant Jesus School. Both schools were awarded with High Performance School status by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.
The primary objective of the visit was to exchange knowledge and information that would be beneficial to both schools and students. The visit had given teachers and school leaders the opportunity to experience the educational practice in Malaysia.
The teachers also visited the A’ Famosa Fortress, St Paul’s Hill, The Stadhuys, Baba and Nyonya Heritage House, Jonker Walk, Petronas Twin Towers, Genting Highlands Resort and A’Famosa Resort and Country Club.
The school plans to conduct visits to more schools in other countries to broaden the horizon of teachers.
