MENTORSHIP from experienced teachers or subject experts could provide soon-to-be teachers tips that will make them quality professional educators.
Speaking as the guest of honour at the certificate presentation to 94 teacher mentors from 31 schools and higher learning institutions selected for ‘Master of Teaching’ (MTeach) and ‘Professional Practice and Seminar’ programme (PPS), was Special Duties Officer at the Department of Schools, Awang Nudin bin Haji Mohamad, who hoped that the mentors would provide prospective teachers valuable theories and education practice.
The certificate presentation will be an annual event of the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (IPSHB) to acknowledge the select teachers as mentors.
Also present were lecturers from IPSHB, who were selected as subject and clinical specialists for the PPS programme.
PPS is a core module in MTeach.
It is aimed at channelling real experience to prospective teachers on the pedagogical aspect in the classroom.
The event was organised by the School Partnership Committee, IPSHB.
