WORLDWIDE Motor Sdn Bhd, a member of GHK Group of Companies, yesterday announced the launch of Tata Motors’ new range of passenger vehicles in Brunei.
Worldwide Motor Sdn Bhd is the importer of Tata Motors vehicles in the country including Tata Indica and Tata Vista from the hatchback range and Tata Manza Sedan and Tata Aria belonging to the MPV class.
Dr Ashok Kumar Amrohi, the Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, was the guest of honour at the launching event.
Also present were Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin, Managing Director of GHK Motors Sdn Bhd; Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awg Hj Mohammad bin Hj Daud; Director of Worldwide Motor Sdn Bhd, Wafi Akramin; executives from Tata Motors India and members of the public.
“Bilateral trade and economic cooperation are important for a country and they are related to political relations – if the economic relations are good so will be the political relations. In this case, the relations between Brunei and India are good as we are brotherly countries with the close, friendly ties,” said the Indian envoy.
The Tata group has varied business interests of significant scale such as Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Global Beverages, Tata Teleservices, Titan, Tata Communications and Indian Hotels, said Dr Ashok Kumar prior to the launching. Tata is also one of the biggest Indian companies, having its presence covering more than 60 per cent of the country.
Tata’s worldwide revenue is estimated to be US$103.27 billion this year, with a profit of US$3.65 billion and total assets of US$108.17 billion. As of last year, Tata has about 565,502 employees. Jaguar and Land Rover are subsidiaries of Tata Motors.
Tata Aria is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-charged diesel engine that pumps 140 power and 320 torque. It comes with a host of safety features such as six air bags, ABS with ESP, front and rear fog lamps and other convenient features like dual AC with automatic climate control, 2-DIN music system, cruise control, reverse parking sensor, steering wheel-mounted controls and aesthetics leather seats and 17-inch alloy wheels, among others.
Tata Manza is a spacious sedan powered by a 1.4-litre Safire petrol engine and comes with a host of features like a contemporary infotainment system called Bluetooth 5 capable of pairing five smartphones for hands-free mobile calls during driving.
Tata Vista is a stylish hatchback powered by the internationally-acclaimed 1.4-litre Safire (petrol) engine delivering 75 PS of power and is fuel-efficient and reliable. The interiors welcome weary travellers with ample relaxing head, thigh and lumbar support.
Tata Indica is a contemporary hatchback with a 1.4-litre engine under its hood. One would love the robust, rugged build, fuel economy and comfortable ride over rough roads.
