A SPECIAL talk was delivered by Dayangku Norhayati binti Pengiran Haji Kasharan, a religious officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, during the Special Women’s Assembly which was held yesterday at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
Centred around the topic ‘Berwawasan yang Berkat dengan Bercontohkan kepada Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam’ (A Blessed Vision with the Emulation of the Messenger of Allah the Almighty), the talk focused on Taqwa (piety) and Zikir (remembrance of Allah the Almighty) as two important aspects of achieving those honourable concepts and bringing lasting happiness, while striving for the country’s goal of Vision 2035.
“Those who are entrusted with this task must have Taqwa within themselves,” said Dayangku Norhayati. “Taqwa is a result of strong faith, and those whose hearts are reinforced with Iman will always remember Allah the Almighty.”
She then reminded those in the audience to show more appreciation for the many benefits provided to the citizens of Brunei in terms of education, healthcare and infrastructure, since gratitude is a sign of faith towards Allah the Almighty.
“Taqwa is obedience and submission to the commands of Allah the Almighty, and to avoid what is forbidden,” she added.
She also emphasised the rewards of remembering Allah the Almighty through daily Zikir. “Those with constant remembrance of Allah the Almighty will always do good towards others. They are those who have Taqwa, and who have been actively seeking Allah’s blessings.”
Dayangku Norhayati also told the gathering that Taqwa helps the faithful to stay strong when faced with life’s challenges.
“Always remember Allah the Almighty,” she said. “Zikir is apparent in one’s attitude, character, words and emotions, especially when we are with those who are most reverent and pious.”
Towards the end of her talk, Dayangku Norhayati called on all Muslims in the country to constantly pray to Allah the Almighty for mercy and blessings on Brunei.
