THE Enforcement Department of the Employees Trust Fund (TAP) yesterday continued to conduct surprise visits to business premises in the vicinity of Bandar Seri Begawan.
The purpose of the visits was to ensure that local workers are registered and contributed to the TAP and Supplemental Contributory Pension (SCP) schemes.
From the visit to 51 premises, it was found that 22 local workers were not registered.
Employers who failed to present the necessary documents were also instructed to come to the TAP office to process the registration of their employees and to make contributions and arrears, if any.
In a statement, TAP informed employees who are citizens and permanent residents of Brunei that they are entitled to the TAP and SCP schemes every month.
For any enquiries, the public can visit any TAP branches or by contacting TAP’s Enforcement Department at 2382929 ext 733/732.
Members who are registered as e-Amanah users may also enquire online via TAP’s website at www.tap.com.bn.
