A TOTAL of 373 students from 14 schools yesterday gathered at the Convention Centre in Belait District for a series of motivational talks as part of the ‘Pre-Examination Motivational Guidance Programme’ targeted at students who will be sitting for major exams such as Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level and Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah (PSR) later this month.
Organised by the Language and Literature Bureau of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports, three speakers were invited to share with the students some tips on how to prepare themselves for the exams.
The guest of honour was Dayang Hajah Isisah binti Haji Sulaiman, Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Schools, Belait District.
Dang Syukrinah binti Haji Othman from the Co-Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education gave a talk to the students in Tutong District in a preceding event said, “Siti Zubaidah binti Hamid will be discussing a topic called ‘Self Preparation Prior, During and Post Examination’ which will hopefully educate the students on how to prepare themselves emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
“In terms of emotional and mental health, we urge the students to rid of negative emotions and thoughts because instability in both areas may affect the ability of the students to revise and to get the right amount of information for their exams.”
Dang Syukrinah added, “Spiritual health is also important where, for the Muslims, we are taught that prayers should go along side by side with effort as it would also help to balance their emotional, mental and physical health.”
The event will continue in Temburong where the Belalong Hall of the Community Complex on September 30.
