A MEETING and sharing session, conducted by the Counselling and Career Division of the Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education, touched on the various programmes to be carried out by schools’ Counselling and Career Guidance.
The session had over 130 teachers in attendance and was held at Katok Secondary School.
The objectives of the session were to disseminate information to school counsellors, counselling and career guidance teachers on the programmes to be carried out by the Counselling and Career Guidance next year as well as to avoid any clashes with the activities arranged by their respective schools.
Other matters mentioned during the session included parenting programmes, the future UMAT (decent attitude and practice programme) Camp programme for primary schools, a Peer Guidance Programme and Peer Guidance Competition.
Briefing the teachers yesterday were Acting Head of Counselling and Career Division, Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, and an officer from the Primary Service Unit of the Counselling and Guidance Division, Hjh Roslin binti PDIS Hj Johari.
The session also highlighted next year’s career plan such as the career expo, acting as a guide for the students after they have completed their ‘O’ Levels and workshops for guidance teachers in primary schools.
