Talented students win culinary, fashion competition

‘LEISURE N Style’ competiton was held yesterday at Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School (SMSAB) . The competition, a joint cooperation between Management and Science University, Malaysia, and Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School, was divided into two categories, the Culinary Arts and the Muslimah Fashion.

The guest of honour was Haji Saili bin Haji Chuchu, Head of the Counselling and Careers Unit, Student Affairs Section, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education (MoE). Sia Ai Chin SMSAB’s Principal, gave a welcoming address at the event. The schools that participated in the Culinary Arts were Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School, Menglait Secondary School, Tanjong Maya Secondary School, Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School, Lambak Kiri Secondary School, Masin Secondary School, Rimba Secondary School and Sayyidina Othman Secondary School.

In the Muslimah Fashion category, the participating schools were Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School, Menglait Secondary School, Tanjong Maya Secondary School, Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School, Masin Secondary School and Sayyidina Othman Secondary School.

Winning the first place for the Culinary Arts category was Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School, while first place in Muslimah Fashion was Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School.

The programme aimed to give the students exposure and experience in the culinary, creative, fashion, broadcast and hosting. It is also hoped that the programme will give the students incentive to work for the future.
