EIGHT officers from the Syar’ie Prosecution Division yesterday left for a five-day working visit to Banda Aceh, Indonesia.
According to a press release, the objective of the visit was for the officers to gain knowledge and experience, particularly through exposure in terms of Syariah prosecution for criminal cases of Hudud and Qisas.
It also seeks to enhance knowledge, skills and techniques of the officers in handling criminal cases as well as Ta’zir and encourage partnerships with court officers and legal practitioners in Aceh on information and issues encountered in the legal field in the country.
At the same time, the visit will also be able to establish bilateral relations to update the information related to the latest cases of Hudud, Qisas and Ta’zir.
The delegation was headed by Hajah Hadiyati binti Haji Abdul Hadi, Acting Deputy Chief Syar’ie Judge, Islamic Legal Unit, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Among the places to be visited during the working visit are Mahkamah Syar’iyah Aceh, Dinas Syariat Islam Acheh, Baitul Mal Aceh, Association/Group of Attorneys and Prosecutors, and House of Representatives (Parliament) in Aceh.
The entourage departed from Brunei International Airport on Saturday and is expected to return on October 3.
