Also present were Dr Chin Wei Keh, the Director of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE).
The apprentices will undergo a two-year training session involving 12 months of in-school training and theoretical knowledge in SVSB and another 12 months of on-the-job training with the companies.
In his welcoming remark, Dr Chin Wei Keh said that the IBTE has been working closely with participating companies with the aim of localising the industry.
“We have been working closely with participating companies to understand their needs and requirements. This is done so that we can produce quality employees. The apprenticeship training is one of the ways we can ensure students will learn the necessary skills they need to venture and be successful in the industry.”
Upon the successful completion of the training, apprentices will be awarded the SC3 and Certificate of Apprenticeship from the Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council.
